Last week marked the first Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Women in Ranching retreat in Cora Wyoming. We spent time on horsemanship, stockmanship, leather craft, Dutch oven cooking, campfire singing and more. But the most impactful moments were those spent visiting with and learning from one another. What an incredible week celebrating the western lifestyle with a wonderful group of ladies.

🐴🌟 Meet Our Summer Interns! 🌟🐴

We’re excited to welcome two outstanding Texas A&M students to the Texas horse extension team this summer—Grace Callan and Kaitlynn McDermott!

🤠 Grace Callan is a sophomore Animal Science major from Waco, Texas. She serves as the Director of Communications for the TAMU Horsemen’s Association and will be competing on the horse judging team this fall!

🤠 Kaitlynn McDermott is a senior Animal Science major from Prosper, Texas, pursuing an Equine Certificate. She’s actively involved as a kids leader at Grace Bible Church Southwood and plans to continue working there this fall. Kaitlynn is especially interested in a future career in Extension and is excited to learn more this summer!

You’ll see these two helping with programs, outreach, and events, including working with youth across the state.
