In 4-H, we believe in "learning by doing." By stepping behind the lens, our agents and volunteers show our members that conservation and appreciation for our natural resources is a lifelong journey. 🌍💚

Thank you to everyone who submitted their work and for your continued dedication to making the best better—both in the office and out in the field!

🔍 Our youngest photographers (ages 5–8) took to the field this year to document the natural world. From macro shots of garden life to wide-angle views of the local landscape, these entries show a fantastic foundation in composition and a clear curiosity for the environment.

At this age, it’s not just about the perfect shot—it’s about discovering a love for the outdoors and learning how to protect our natural resources. We are so proud of these future conservationists for their hard work and creativity!

After more than 30 years with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, we are proud to celebrate the incredible career of Lawrence “Larry” Perez.

Larry began his Extension journey in 1994, serving in county, state, and national roles throughout his career. Most recently, he has been a driving force behind the Texas 4-H Shooting Sports Program, where his leadership, dedication to safety, and commitment to youth development have impacted thousands of 4-H members, volunteers, and families across Texas.

From training volunteers and coordinating statewide events to representing Texas 4-H at the national level, Larry’s leadership and passion for “learning by doing” have left a lasting mark on the Texas 4-H program and the Extension system as a whole.

As Larry prepares to retire on February 28, 2026, we extend our sincere gratitude for his decades of service, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to youth and volunteers.

Thank you, Larry, for everything you have given to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and the Texas 4-H Youth Development Program. Your legacy will continue to inspire for years to come.
