Aggie Parents and Family

Aggie Parents and Family Welcome to the Aggie Parents and Family Facebook! As part of the Aggie family, we want to be your partner in supporting your student(s) at Texas A&M.

New Student and Family Programs in Student Life provide resources for parents and families to partner in supporting student development and encouraging student responsibility. Your roles as parents and mentors are as important as ever. Studies show that parental involvement increases the chances that a college student will be successful on campus and improves graduation rates. Our department values the opportunity to observe and be a part of students' personal growth and development. We hope that you will take full advantage of the services and resources that Student Life provides. We strive to be a one-stop resource for Aggie Parents and Families. Feel free to contact us at 979.845.5826 or at [email protected] if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. Please read the Texas A&M University Facebook Usage Policy at tx.ag/FBUsagePolicy.

Does your Aggie have 30 or more credit hours? ๐Ÿ“š

If so, it may be time for them to submit their Undergraduate Degree Planner. Even if they've already done theirs, be sure to have them check if they need to submit one annually, as some colleges require an updated plan.

Missing the deadline can result in a registration hold. Advisors are available for support if your student needs any assistance! ๐Ÿ‘

As a parent or family member, you often notice changes in your Aggie before anyone else does. Trust your instincts. If something feels off, ask directly: "Are you thinking about su***de?"
Research is clear: asking that question does not put the idea in someone's head. It opens a door. It tells your student they are seen and that it is safe to tell the truth.
