Congratulations to our First Vice President, Mikayla Wrenn!!!

Shoutout to our student, Mikayla Wrenn, who was recently awarded a competitive upper-division scholarship from the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE)!

Mikayla Wrenn is a senior Agricultural Science major from Wallis, TX. She has always wanted to become a teacher, but didn't know what subject she wanted to teach. Her passion for the agricultural industry began in high school through the FFA. As she was applying to colleges, her ag teacher and Aggie graduate, Baylee Adams '18, influenced her to study Agricultural Science and become an ag teacher. At that moment, Mikayla realized she could combine her passion for agriculture and education by becoming an ag teacher. Mikayla hopes to instill the same passion for agriculture into her future students.

Whoop! Keep up the great work, Mikayla.

On Saturday March 25th, the TAMU Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications partnered with TAMU CFFAA to host the Aggiefest CDE Invitational. Where FFA students competed in the Ag Communications CDE, Wildlife CDE, and ATMS competition. We would like to give a huge shout out to our sponsor WRI Outdoors & Tractors, that provided us with a tractor for the ATMS competition. Students used this tractor to showcase their skills in tractor knowledge. Thank you Texas A&M University and WRI Tractors for supporting Texas youth in agriculture and paving the way for this who are future agriculturalist. Without their support, TAMU CFFAA would not have been able to provide FFA members with an educational opportunity.

Our second spotlight for Alumni day!

We appreciate everything that FFA has provided for us through the years!

Christina Williams is a former FFA Alumni, Texas Collegiate FFA State Officer, and currently the lead Ag Teacher at Samuel Clemens High School. Ms. Williams discovered the FFA by accident when she enrolled in her high schoolโ€™s Principles of Ag, Food, and Natural Resources class as a freshman. She quickly fell in love with the agriculture industry and the FFA and dove in headfirst. Throughout her education career, Ms. Williams found a passion for floral design, sharing her love of agriculture education, and crop production. โ€œIt really opened up so many doors that I did not even know could be opened for me and led me into a life that I truly love and cherish every day.โ€ In her teaching career, Ms. Williams tries to provide every opportunity to her students that she can, just as her Ag teacher did for her.

Eileen Zinsmeister is a former FFA Alumni, Texas A&M Collegiate FFA Alumni officer, and currently undergoing her student teaching semester as a part of her Agricultural Science degree at Texas A&M. Eileen was introduced to the FFA in her Principles of AFNR class as a freshman in high school, and she was heavily involved in Leadership Development Events and Career Development Events. The FFA has impacted her life by giving opening the door to endless possibilities. โ€œI cannot put into words the profound impact being an FFA member had on me. The organization changed my life and will continue to influence me in my college education and future career.โ€ Eileen is currently working directly with students in the FFA on a daily basis as a student teacher and FFA Advisor in training. Her favorite FFA tradition is the blue corduroy jacket. โ€œEvery time I see an FFA jacket, I remember my memorable experiences in the corduroy and it always brings a smile to my face.โ€
