The Chancellor's Cup starts on a football field in Stephenville, but its vision extends far beyond one game.

On August 29, Prairie View A&M University and Tarleton State University kick off a new tradition for The Texas A&M University System. In the years ahead, the Cup could grow to include other men's and women's sports, academic and club competitions, and events that highlight student excellence across all 12 universities.

✨MEMBER SPOTLIGHT✨

Meet Becky and Billy McCord!

Billy earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University in 1999, while Becky earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of North Texas in 2004. Billy, a third-generation Aggie, joined the Chancellor’s Century Council to continue his grandfather’s legacy of service to Texas A&M. He and Becky also credit fellow Council members Chad and Amy Nobles for introducing them to the organization and inspiring their involvement.

Professionally, Billy serves as Director of Business Development for Texas at Willmeng Construction, where he enjoys seeing projects evolve from preconstruction through final completion alongside owners and design teams. Becky is Senior Vice President at Drake Real Estate & Investments, specializing in retail real estate and site selection, and finds fulfillment in helping clients navigate complex projects from concept to closing.

Outside of work, Billy and Becky enjoy spending time together on family vacations, attending sporting events, cooking, and hiking. They consider their greatest accomplishment to be raising their two children. Their daughter is preparing to begin her journey at Texas A&M, and their son, currently a high school junior, is also on track to become an Aggie. Continuing the family's tradition, their daughter—and likely their son—will represent the fourth generation of McCord Aggies, a legacy Billy says would make both his father and grandfather, who began the family's tradition of service to Texas A&M, incredibly proud.

I'm excited to share that we are launching The Chancellor's Cup, a competition that will celebrate school pride, excellence and the unique identity of our member universities.

The first Chancellor's Cup will be awarded on Aug. 29 when Prairie View A&M University travels to Stephenville to take on Tarleton State University in a nationally televised football game on ESPN2. Following the game, I'll have the privilege of presenting the Cup to the winning university.

It’s our goal for The Chancellor’s Cup to grow to include additional athletic competitions, academic contests, student activities and other events that showcase the remarkable talent across our A&M System.

The Chancellor's Century Council - The Texas A&M University System will serve as the founding and permanent presenting sponsor of The Chancellor's Cup.
