VDay TAMU V-Day is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. Here at Texas A&M Univ So what are we really doing? Why? R**e. In**st. S*xual abuse.

V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including r**e, battery, in**st, female ge***al mutilation (FGM), and s*x slavery. The 'V' in V-Day stands for "Victory", "Valentine" and "Va**na". The purpose of this organization is to provide programming, education, and to raise money and awareness to stop all violence against women and girls. Through programming and events TAMU V-Day works to end violence against women. Violence against women is a large issue that gets swept aside in the "culture of silence." One out of every three American women will be the victims of some form of gender-based violence. S*x Trafficking. Domestic violence (UNFPA, 2000). All accross the world, women are being hurt.

I'm watching the DVD copy of UTVS, just to make sure the disk works, and let me tell you guys this movie is amazing! I hope you come to screening tomorrow. It will definitely be worth it!

Everybody get ready because we have some great events coming up! We will be showing the documentary Until The Violence Stops March 20th in the MSC 2300D @ 7pm! Also The Va**na Monologues will be March 29th & 30th in the MSC 2400 @ 6pm. Mark these dates in your calendar and I can't wait to see y'all there!
