We're excited to announce the Aggie-Bayer Hackathon, a competition hosted in collaboration with Texas A&M University - College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Bayer, and Texas A&M AgriLife Research! 🌿

📍 Predicting the performance of specific genetic lines allows us to pinpoint the best genetic material for a particular environment without using excess resources. The challenge? It is the spring of 2008, and you are a new data scientist tasked with predicting the performance of our Maize 110 pipeline. 🌽 Using information from 2001–2007, we want you to predict the performance of anticipated crosses in selected testing sites.

📣 TAMIDS Researchers Partner with GCRI for First-of-its-Kind Workshop on Resilient AI Systems

Last month, Drs. Eman Hammad from the TAMIDS SPARTA Lab and Jaewon Kim from the Texas A&M Global Cyber Research Institute led the first workshop on AI compositional trust at a major conference. The IEEE/IFP International Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks (DSN) is one of the most prestigious international conferences where academic and industry leaders share advancements in the design and maintenance of robust and secure computing systems. This week's Student Spotlight goes to Jnana Preeti Parlapalli! ⭐ She just graduated after completing our Master of Science in Data Science program with an emphasis in computer science. Jnana worked extensively with MD Anderson Cancer Center and Los Alamos National Laboratory, and is passionate about the applications of AI and data science in healthcare. Way to go, Jnana! We can't wait to see what you do next. 👍

Last week, members of our team and the Student Ambassador program hosted a week-long scientific machine learning summer school! We had several expert guest speakers from universities across the state who shared their research and the fundamentals of physics-informed neural networks and machine learning.
