Join the Office of Undergraduate Research this Friday from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. to learn about the Undergraduate Research Scholars thesis program.
The URS Thesis Program is the only stand-alone, university-level, honors distinction for undergraduate research at Texas A&M University. Designed to support students through the development of a thesis for publication in the Texas A&M OAKTrust Digital Repository, the URS program provides a structured pathway to contribute meaningfully to their field while gaining valuable experience in communication, critical thinking, and project management.

Ambassadors build skills in networking, public speaking and leadership while gaining a competitive edge for graduate and professional school applications. Participants often receive additional grant opportunities and expanded professional development experiences through their involvement.
The Office of Undergraduate Research is seeking students from across disciplines β including science, engineering, arts, humanities, business and social sciences β to represent the breadth of research happening on campus.
This one-year leadership opportunity includes honors credit and priority registration for students who meet participation requirements, with the option to continue beyond the initial term.

The 2026 Undergraduate Research Scholars Symposium is tomorrow (Whoop)!
To ensure a successful experience for our Undergraduate Research Scholars, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
π±Respect the Environment
- Follow the Rules: All Texas A&M University System and Student Rules apply.
- Be Punctual: Please be in your seat before the presentation begins.
- Minimize Disruptions: Enter and exit rooms quietly during transitions. If you must leave early, please sit near the back.
π Engage Thoughtfully
- Listen Actively: Stay open-minded and try to see the research through the presenter's perspective.
π¬ Practice Good Dialogue
- Restate points to confirm understanding and criticize ideas, not the individuals presenting them.
π Keep it Scholarly
- Support your feedback with evidence and avoid sweeping generalizations.
πΌ Professional Etiquette
- Stay Present: Avoid leaving in the middle of a session or causing distractions.
π Provide Private Feedback
- If your comments are personal or highly specific, consider sharing them privately with the researcher afterward.
