What has been built at A&M Consolidated High School Band & Guard is not something that just happens. It takes vision, consistency, and the kind of leadership that sees what can be long before everyone else does.

From attending a couple of contests a year to competing at State every year and pushing closer and closer to finals… that kind of progress is not accidental. It is intentional. It is steady. It is earned.

But what makes this program truly special is not just the accolades or the trajectory. It is the culture.

The A&M Consolidated Tiger Band and Guard is home to some of the most amazing directors in Texas, each bringing unmatched talent, leadership, and heart to the Tiger Band and Guard. At the helm is Head Band Director Steve Fry, whose vision, guidance, and passion for excellence set the tone for every rehearsal and performance. Associate Director James Benton leads with dedication and a deep commitment to musical growth, inspiring students to push past what they thought was possible. Percussion Director Cole Crofton brings precision, creativity, and high-energy instruction that elevates the entire ensemble. On the visual side, Color Guard Directors Ava Ahmadi and Alex DeWald pour their artistry and expertise into every color guard member, shaping a team that moves audiences with grace and power.

Together, this incredible team builds more than shows. They build confidence, character, and a legacy that students will carry for a lifetime.

After the preliminary performance this afternoon from today’s highly competitive Vista Ridge Marching Contest: We are pleased to announce that the A&M Consolidated High School Marching Band earned the following:

1st Place in Class 5A!
1st Place in Music!

We couldn’t be prouder of our incredibly hard-working students, dedicated directors, and amazing volunteers and chaperones who make this season one to remember. Your passion and commitment shine with every step and every note!

Congratulations to every band that performed today, they were among the best bands in TEXAS!!!

🎵🎶 The sights and sounds of Tiger Pride will be marching through the streets this Saturday, as the A&M Consolidated High School Band and Guard host their annual March-a-thon fundraiser.

The high-energy event will take place on Saturday, August 9, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM in the Pebble Creek neighborhood and concluding at Mission Ranch around 11:00 AM. This spirited tradition not only kicks off the marching season but also shines a spotlight on the vibrant fine arts community in College Station.

Dustin Blackwell - Class of 2025

Help us celebrate Dustin Blackwell, a proud member of the Mighty Tiger Band! From early morning rehearsals to late-night performances, Dustin has shown what it means to be dedicated, hardworking, and all-in. He’s been a key part of our Loading Crew and a true team player every step of the way.

After graduation, Dustin plans to continue his welding career at Blinn College and has his sights set on transferring to Texas A&M and joining the Corps of Cadets. We’re so proud of you, Dustin, and can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next!

Help us celebrate this outstanding member of the A&M Consolidated Band! Alex is heading to Tyler Junior College to pursue a career as a Land Surveyor. During his time at Consol, he’s made his mark as Loading Crew Co-Captain, an Eagle Scout, and a dedicated student—graduating Cum Laude and as a member of the National Honor Society.
