When David Cates arrived at Texas A&M, he brought with him an ambitious goal: to complete both his bachelors' and masters' of arts in mathematics in just four years.
That drive has been shaped by a long-standing love of mathematics, encouraged early on by his mother, a high school math teacher, and strengthened through his own experience tutoring others in high school. At Texas A&M, David has accelerated his academic journey while also investing in community through clubs outside of the classroom.

Celebrating World Ocean Month with hands-on learning at Texas A&M Oceanography! 🌊
In Oceanographic Field & Laboratory Methods, learning goes beyond the classroom. Students travel offshore near Galveston for hands-on experience in water sampling, research cruise operations and oceanographic analysis techniques, preparing them to make meaningful contributions in the field.

Today, we're celebrating Autumn Simundson, a recent English graduate who dedicated her time to writing, research, and supporting others.
Autumn helped guide her peers as a board member of the Undergraduate Humanities Research Symposium, earned recognition by earning top honors in the English Research Essay Content, and showcased her work at national conferences and the .

From ballerina to biologist, Enya Hoxha is bringing discipline, curiosity & determination into the lab.
As a molecular and cell biology major at Texas A&M Biology, she is helping advance bacteriophage research that could one day contribute to a better understanding of conditions like IBS, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Along the way, Enya has also found balance and community through the Aggie Ballet Company, continuing to stay connected to the art form that first shaped her.

Today, we’re highlighting recent graduate MyKaela Johnston, who made her mark in the Texas A&M Department of Philosophy, graduating with a B.A. in Society, Ethics, and Law.
She leaves Aggieland with a deep commitment to civil discourse and selfless service. Next stop: Washington, D.C., where she’ll pursue her master’s and continue making a difference for the good of people everywhere.
