Before... and AFTER!

I love labels 🏷

These labels are really great for baskets and places where sticky labels tend to fall off.

What would you label with these?

Happy National Coming Out Day! 🌈

Today we celebrate the courage it takes to live openly as YOU. And if you've been waiting for a sign to let your home reflect who you really are, this is it.💛

Maybe you've been through a big life change. Maybe you're ready for a fresh start, and the pile of clothes you haven't worn in years is holding you back. There's no shame here.

Here's how you can start today:

✨ Pull out ONE section of your closet. Just one shelf or one rack.
✨ Keep what fits your life and makes you feel like YOU.
✨ Let go of the rest. Donate it so someone else can love it.

Your home should feel like a place where you can be your whole, true self. 🏡

Too overwhelmed to begin? We can tackle your closet (or your whole house) together: https://go.elenasdeclutter.com/getstarted

And whether you are gay or straight, a hoarder or a procrastinating perfectionist, you are welcome here 🤗

It's hard to throw usable things away. 😟

I get it.

But it you aren't going to use it, it's going to end up in the trash eventually. So why not save yourself space and sanity in the mean time and throw it away today?

What can you throw away right now?

Tell me in the comments and then go do it! 🗑

Got this procrastinated task done 🙌🏻 What about you?

Fall decor 🎃🪄 Do you need to declutter yourself?

Let me know how many bins of fall decor you have (that includes general fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving decor).

The number of bins is less important however than the amount of space they take up and how much total storage space you have.

As I only have a small shed, one small bin is all I can store year round without causing issues.

Would love to help you declutter your home as I'm almost done with my maternity leave. Head to the link in my bio to get on my waitlist!

Here are some ideas of things maybe you should do this week:

- Change out your front door decor
- Decorate your home for fall
- Swap your summer and fall wardrobe
- Do a deep clean
- Store outdoor items for winter
- Declutter any summer clothes you didn't use this summer
- Declutter any fall decor you didn't (or don't) put up
- Take any outdoor trash to the dump before it gets rained or snowed on

Let me know what you are going to tackle this week 👇

Dolly left quite the legacy 🎀 📚

Got my first Imagination Library book today for my daughter and read it to her in Spanish (can't believe they offer bilingual books!).

If you have a baby or toddler, sign up today at imaginationlibrary.com ✨️

And whether you participate in this program or not, you should utilize the one-in, one-out rule for books.

When one book comes in, one needs to go out.

WHAT TO DECLUTTER:
📙 a book they've outgrown
🚫 a book that's torn
📖 a book that you don't like to read

All kids books should fit on one bookcase ideally. Or if you have multiple kids, maybe one small bookcase per kid. And if you don't have kids, then your books should all fit on one or two bookcases.

Tell me your book issues in the comments and I will reply with my suggestions. 💬

Little ol' me in 2019... 7 years ago when I started Elena's Declutter!

I was moving into my college apartment near Walla Walla University (I still live in the same one!) while also brainstorming how to start an organizing business.

I had just finished a year abroad in Peru where I had decided I didn't want to be a school teacher. I liked teaching and organizing a classroom but not wrangling kids. Declutter coaching was an idea 💡 that included both organizing and teaching adults (aka coaching). So I decided since there was no other professional organizers in Walla Walla, that I needed to start my own business. So I did.

🥂 So Happy 7th Bizversary to me!

I just published a blog post about the 6 things that have changed since 2019 and 1 thing that hasn't. Read here: https://www.elenasdeclutter.com/post/7-years-6-changes-and-1-thing-that-s-stayed-the-same
