A University of Maryland professor developed a new processing method for oxidation-proof copper. The innovation, a novel reactive ink that prints onto nearly any surface, was presented in a Science paper today.

Last night, six Materials Science & Engineering seniors attended the Order of the Engineer Ceremony, where inductees received a ring and took the Obligation of the Engineer. Congratulations to our 2026 class on this accomplishment! 🎓

Nicholas Meuse ’24, Ph.D.’29, a student in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, was selected for the prestigious SMART Scholarship-for-Service Program.
