Theta Tau at UMD

Theta Tau at UMD The Eta Delta Chapter of Theta Tau is a professional co-ed engineering fraternity at the University of Maryland. James Clark School of Engineering.

We are a family of engineers who share in the common goals of professionalism, philanthropy, and brotherhood. We seek to create a welcoming environment for all engineers to succeed academically, socially, and professionally. The members of our family come from various backgrounds and study nearly every field of engineering offered by the A. Our members seek to promote positive change within the engineering community and campus community as a whole through participation in the Student Government Association, the Engineering Student Council, and professional engineering organizations such as IEEE and ASME. Our brothers work and intern at prestigious companies such as Yahoo!, Amazon, Google, and Microsoft. If you are interested in joining please don't hesitate to send us a message through our page.

THATS A WRAP FOR FALL ‘26 RUSH ❤️💛

Huge thank you to everyone who came out — it was so much fun meeting each and every one of you. The energy this rush was unmatched! Don’t worry if you couldn’t make it to our events this semester, we have rush every semester, so be on the lookout for that!

And of course, none of this happens without our incredible rush chairs, Juhi and Rishab! Thank you for devoting your time, energy, and heart into making this rush one to remember 🔥

Our last pillar is Professional Development! At Theta Tau, professionalism is a core value. We create opportunities for our brothers to explore the engineering industry through resume workshops, mock interviews, alumni brunches, and information sessions with a wide range of companies. Our Professional Development and Corporate Relations chairs work closely with our alumni network to bring meaningful, career-focused experiences to our chapter.

Through these efforts, Theta Tau has had the opportunity to collaborate with companies such as Deloitte, Accenture, Google, Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, Hensel Phelps, AstraZeneca, and more-helping our members build skills, connections, and confidence for their future careers.

That’s all for professional development, our PD event is tonight from 7PM - 9PM at Iribe room 1116. You don’t need to dress professionally, however please bring your laptop and resume to be able to participate in our PD workshops.

If you have any questions feel free to DM us or email [email protected]!

With the brotherhood BBQ today, let’s dive into our brotherhood pillar!

At Theta Tau, we place a high emphasis on fraternal friendship and mentorship among our members. Our wonderful Brotherhood chairs work hard to plan events including camping trips, pumpkin picking, ice skating, barbeques, tailgates, and more which never fail to bring us closer together. These events provide brothers with the chance to spend time together outside of academics, allowing them to get to know each other better and forge stronger bonds with each other.

We’re extremely proud of the tight-knit community we’ve built here within Theta Tau, and we are even more excited to continue growing it with Fall 2026 Rush! We look forward to meeting you today at the Washington Quad at 3PM!

As always if you have any questions feel free to DM us or email [email protected]!

As we head into day 2 of rush, we’re excited to introduce the three pillars that shape our fraternity including professional development, service, and brotherhood. Today we will dive into service!

We’re grateful to partner with a variety of organizations that allow us to give back to our community each year. From hosting our annual INOVA blood drive, to animal shelter trips, to a week-long Habitat for Humanity service spring break trip in Flagler Beach, Florida, service is an integral part of our chapter. These experiences give our brothers the opportunity to make a real impact while growing closer as a community.

We’re excited to see what our service chairs have planned for us this semester and can’t wait to continue giving back together!
