This year, Pi Day falls during our Spring Break, so we decided to celebrate a little early! CMNS Dean Jayanth Banavar hosted the event. Alumna Georgette Kiser (B.S. ’89, mathematics), CIO of The Carlyle Group, gave a keynote lecture, and Denny Gulick, professor in the Department of Mathematics and one of Kiser's former professors, recited Pi to 100 places at top speed. And of course we had pie, both pizza and the dessert kind.
