The Gemstone Program, a part of the Honors College at the University of Maryland College Park, is a four year research program. Students are placed on team projects at the end of the first year, and teams conceptualize and carry out their project and research in the following years. All teams present and defend a thesis in the spring of their senior year, and the program culminates in a citation. Website: www.gemstone.umd.edu
