We are waiting on more from the authorities, regarding what type of device was overheating. However, this is a great time to discuss phone charging at night with your family.

Research has revealed that 53% of children/teens charge their phone or tablet either on their bed or under their pillow. This is can be extremely dangerous. The heat generated cannot dissipate and the charger will become hotter and hotter. The likely result is that the pillow/bed will catch fire.

Please share this - As these types of fires are on the rise. If you have ever woke up to a very hot PHONE, you know how easy it is to do this.

The Tallahassee Fire Department recognizes Fire Prevention Week with tips for college students

TFD discusses unique challenges college students face in fire prevention Tuesday's focus of the 2019 Fire Prevention Week is protecting young adults living in Tallahassee, specifically college students in their apartments.
