π ANSC Student Spotlight: Noa Meyerstein π
As a participant in the AGNR Sophomore Year Experience (SYE) Fellows Program, Noa has enjoyed building connections with fellow students while gaining valuable life and career skills.
"The SYE program has been a lot of fun because I've gotten to meet many new people and discuss important topics like career planning, money management, and community building," Noa shared.
One of her favorite parts of the program is attending the monthly meetings, where students catch up, share experiences, and enjoy time together. A particularly memorable moment was when a birthday celebration turned into a group celebration complete with cake, a piΓ±ata, and plenty of fun.
Through the program, Noa has strengthened her communication skills, learned more about career and financial planning, and gained confidence navigating university resources. She was also excited to join because it offered opportunities to connect with peers and support her goal of studying abroad during her time at UMD.
Thank you, Noa, for sharing your experience! πβ€οΈ

ππ ANSC had a fantastic time at the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival !
A special shoutout to the six undergraduate students ( Julianne Vengrosky, Allison Flaherty, Ava Kneale, Hallie Schattall, Shea Maxwell and Julia Kelly) who assisted Dr. Black at the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. From setting up the exhibit and talking with visitors about our program and the Katahdin breed, to participating in the Breed Display and Parade. Their hard work and enthusiasm made it all possible.
Thank you, Dr. Black and our amazing students, for representing ANSC and sharing your passion for animal science with the community. We are so proud of the hands-on experiences our students gain both inside and outside the classroom! πππΎ
