University of Maryland- Honors Humanities

University of Maryland- Honors Humanities Welcome to the official page of Honors Humanities, an honors living-learning community at the University of Maryland! Rethink art. Rethink culture. Rethink you.

Ask a question, leave a comment, or just find out about Honors Humanities happenings. Honors Humanities challenges students to consider some of the most fundamental and important questions facing humanity today. What does citizenship mean in a globalized world? What are the consequences of the digital and information revolutions for human experiences? How will understandings of diverse cultures shape the world of the twenty-first century? What is the purpose of art, and the meaning of the liberal arts, today? How do I fit into the world around me, and how can the greatest thinkers, artists, and events of the past help us to create the most democratic and just future? Honors Humanities is a specialized program within the Honors College for students from all majors and backgrounds who have a passion for the humanities and creative arts. Through a rigorous curriculum of innovative courses, thematic programming that takes learning beyond the classroom walls, and an intimate community in picturesque Anne Arundel Hall, Honors Humanities offers a transformative experience for talented incoming students. Join Honors Humanities and rethink history.
