✨Club spotlight: Women's Investing Society✨

💵 The Women's Investing Society (WIS) is a student-run organization dedicated to empowering members to explore and pursue careers or interests in investing and finance. In 2025, Lindsay Funes asked Ed Snider Center managing director, Jacqueline Manger, to be faculty advisor to the club. The idea was to create a supportive and driven community of individuals who are passionate about building financial knowledge, developing professional skills, and achieving their long-term financial goals.

🐢 Partnering with the Ed Snider Center has allowed the club to reach a broader audience of members, both within and outside the Smith School. Additionally, applying concepts learned through courses such as "BMGT 262: The Enterprising Leader" and "BMGT 162: The Future of You, Business, and Society" The club was able to take course concepts from the classroom and make practical applications that address problems the executive board members wanted to solve.

✅ Through weekly meetings and interactive workshops, members engage in hands-on learning experiences focused on equity research, understanding market trends, and portfolio management. The goal of the organization was to intentionally create an inclusive space where women feel encouraged to ask questions, explore new concepts, and grow confident in their financial abilities. By fostering curiosity, collaboration, and leadership, WIS is committed to developing the next generation of informed and motivated leaders in finance.
