Startup Shell is a student-run nonprofit incubator that fosters entrepreneurship through collaboration at UMD.
Startup Shell was founded in 2012 by a few students frustrated with the lack of a good coworking space on campus. Then-director of the TAP Building - Craig Dye - unofficially gave the students a lab space that was being used for storage. Years later, Startup Shell is a flourishing student-run incubator supporting entrepreneurs and facilitating society's next generation of movers and shakers.
