The Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) functions as the liaison between students and the University Health Center, essentially the “student voice."
SHAC works to provide education on different topics in college health, plane events, and promote and improve services provided at the health center. You’re more than welcome to get in touch with SHAC through [email protected], our comment cards around the UHC, or stop by our office on the third floor of the health center.

With guidance from university and county health experts, due to a significant and concerning increase in positive COVID cases on and around our campus, UMD is implementing new COVID measures, effective immediately and until further notice: go.umd.edu/Sbu
These include:
● Increased restrictions on gatherings, and on Stamp Student Union, RecWell, and student organization activities
● Enhanced Health Precautions in any residence hall and/or Fraternity and Sorority Life house where cases are growing
● Additional COVID testing for affected populations
If there is no significant decrease in cases over the coming days, we will take further action. The combination of COVID fatigue, new variants and this uptick in cases reinforces the vital importance of maintaining our protocols. We must all do our part, together.
