A BIG thanks to the Berwyn Distrct Civic Association and the AKA Sorority sisters that came out Sunday morning March 26th to help w**d, plant, and mulch the Permaculture Garden for the 2023 Spring season. Our garden is dependent on community volunteering and ownership.

Celebrate Pollinator Week 2022 June 20 - 26th with the City of College Park's Bee City USA Committee, by building a Bee Hotel. Bee Hotels are for solitary bees which are docile and great pollinators. For $10 you can build a quality bee hotel for a lot less than you can buy one and the ones for sale are mostly built incorrectly and only produce male bees. This one will assure both sexes will be created because of the depth of it. The workshop will be on June 25th from 1-4pm at Davis Hall 9217 51st Ave, College Park, MD 20740

The City of College Park's Public Works landscape crew will be w**ding at the permaculture garden this week from 8am - 2pm and they are short-staffed and could really use all the help they can get. Feel free to stop by and help for any amount that you can.

I wanted to thank everyone who showed up for Good Neighbor Day’s Trolley Trail Permaculture Garden Planting. The 11 volunteers who showed up were able to plant 1 Pawpaw tree, 6 shrubs (Nanking Cherries and Hazelnuts), and 38 various perennials plants. We also spread at least 4 cubic yards of mulch, and removed about 2 cubic feet of w**ds. And thank you Sarah D'Alexander for being my project leader. Special thanks to the City of College Park’s Public Works for providing the plants and mulch and loaning us the tools. And thanks to everyone at the Office of Community Engagement and the Good Neighbor Day Committee.

Mugwort overran our insectary after being w**ded and mulched in April's Good Neighbor Day. We decided to try a new fabric barrier with mulch this time.
