Excited to share this opportunity!

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that our dear friend, mentor, and colleague Pam Bryant-Hollins has passed. Pam was among the founding members of the University of Maryland Writing Project where she taught us to embrace ourselves as writers through the practice of Morning Pages and her signature ringing of the bells. We invite our Writing Project friends to share their remembrances of Pam. We know her legacy will live on through the many teachers she influenced and the many students she inspired.

The funeral service, interment, and repast will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at St. John's Episcopal Church and Cemetery, 11040 Baltimore Avenue, Beltsville, MD. 20705.

Viewing: 9:30AM - 10:30AM
Daughters of the King Service: 10:40AM
Funeral Service: 11:00AM

Immediately after the service, the interment will take place in the St. John's Cemetery followed by the repast in the St. John's Parish Hall.

What a treat it is every year to 'wonder' the streets of this area of , reading along from haiku to haiku. Submission deadline to have your own haiku considered is February 4th. Good luck.

The 11th annual GGolden Triangle DChaiku competition’s submission period is open now through February 4, at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Poets (from across the world) are invited to submit up to two original, self-authored haiku. Winning poets will win monetary prizes and recognition, while selected haiku (which includes winners) will be displayed throughout the neighborhood starting in March.

WRITE YOUR LIFE: A Poetry Session by Grace Cavalieri

Everyone has a story to tell. And no one has another’s story. That’s why each person is invited to enter this practice. Everything we need to write is within us or within our view. This session will access the poem from the data base inside us, and the world outside us, and we’ll use language that is everyday speech. “Poetry “is just a word that allows us to notice more, see more, be in touch with our natural and emotional environments.
