Started in 2022, The Susan R. Komives Collaborative Leadership Award is given every two years to a leadership educator who demonstrates excellence through collaborative leadership. Recipients will show evidence of collective work across campus, state, regional, or international contexts that advances leadership education. This award is coordinated by the National Clearinghouse for Leadership Programs and aims to recognize those who serve as connectors, conveners, and collaborators in the field. Leadership education professionals at any career level and in any role are eligible for this award.
Nominations are open NOW through July 15, 2026. To be considered for the award, individuals need to be nominated by someone or self-nominated with a letter outlining the candidate’s qualifications and work that is in line with the award’s purpose. Nominators or nominees will also submit two supporting letters and the resume/CV of the nominee.

Deadline Extension!!
The LEI Call for Programs deadline has been extended! Submissions are now due by June 22 at 9AM ET. Share your best practices, ideas, research, and teaching methods with colleagues during LEI26. Consider proposing a General Interest Session (60 minutes), Learning Lab (30 minutes), or Lightning Talk (6 minutes) on a wide range of topics connected to leadership education.
Also, this is your last chance to volunteer as a program reviewer. Serving as a program reviewer is a great way to learn about what makes a successful conference proposal, learn about new ideas and topics in the leadership education field, and help ensure a great experience at LEI26! Attendance at LEI or level of previous experience is not required.

The Leadership Educators Institute (LEI) is a bi-annual conference planned by and for leadership educators across higher education, offered by NCLP in partnership with ACPA–College Student Educators International and NASPA - Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. Join other educators, administrators, scholars, and practitioners to discuss and advance current leadership topics, such as:
- Modern leadership theories and models including new research, applications, and critical perspectives
- Innovative and inclusive curriculum, pedagogy, and strategies for leadership studies courses
- Assessment and evaluation of leadership programs, student development, and learning outcomes
- Future directions in leadership education and development based on widely-used studies and standards such as the Multi-Institutional Study of Leadership (MSL), the CAS Standards for Leadership Education and Development, and the International Leadership Association (ILA) Guiding Questions
- Unique co-curricular program models and high-impact practices including those with cohort and multi-year engagement, distance and online learning, service-learning, mentoring, and global experiences
- Strategy and management of leadership program operations including staff training, funding, and partnerships
- Intersectional and interdisciplinary approaches to leadership education
