The Maryland Safe Drinking Water Analysis and Testing for Education and Research (WATER) study examines the quality of public drinking water systems and private wells in Maryland through citizen science, field-based research and laboratory analyses.

The Maryland Institute for Applied Environmental Health (MIAEH) is looking for participants for the Maryland Safe Drinking WATER (Water Analysis and Testing for Education and Outreach) Study.
This project is being conducted by researchers at the University of Maryland, and aims to understand the quality of water from both public drinking water systems and private wells in Maryland communities using a combination of citizen science, field-based research, and laboratory analyses.

November 3rd is . As defined by the CDC, One Health is an approach that recognizes that the health of people is closely connected to the health of animals and our shared environment. Water connects all living things on our planet. For instance, The Maryland Safe Drinking WATER Study and our participants engage in important One Health work when testing for nitrates in drinking water associated with runoff from poultry operations on the Eastern Shore.
