With Giving Day 3 days away, we want to explain what our goal of $5000 means for our project!
team BRAIN is looking to correlate biomarker levels and lifestyle choices with the progression of Alzheimer’s Disease. In our research, each participant’s physical health and cognitive function will be assessed using many techniques, including an Alzheimer’s Cognitive Battery.
By analyzing changes in a set of biomarkers characteristic of the progression of Alzheimer’s Disease, we hope to propose a novel, quantitative way to diagnose the disease while paving a way to identify potential drug targets in the future!
Stay tuned for more information on how you can help us on Wednesday, March 4th!

Hi! Welcome to Team Brain's page! Team Brain is a product from the University of Maryland's Gemstone Honors Program. For the next three years at UMD, we will be seeking to observe changes in biomarker presence of patients with Alzheimer’s disease, with UMD's very own Professor J. Carson Smith as our mentor. We are very excited about our project and the journey we are about to embark on. Please like and share our page, as your support means the most to us! Stay tuned for further posts! Thank you!
