Congratulations to our 158th hafiz, Yaqoub Sacks! 🥳🎉

At just 12 years old, our 9th grader Yaqoub has memorized the entire Qur’an! His journey began at home with 2 years under his mother, Al-Huda School teacher Sr. Ishraq, then 1 year in our Dar-us-Salaam Qur’an program. Allahu Akbar!

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it."

We ask Allah to make the Qur'an Yaqoub’s constant companion, his comfort in hardship, his light in darkness, and his intercessor on the Day of Judgement.

Bringing together decades of experience in Islamic education, Qur’anic learning, curriculum development, holistic education and youth development, these speakers offer perspectives that speak directly to the transformation of learners, educators and Islamic schools.

🌱 Br. Safi Khan is CEO of Dar-us-Salaam and the Al-Huda school network, serving over 1,000 students annually. With more than 38 years of experience, his work has been deeply focused on Muslim youth development and Islamic education, mentoring and nurturing future generations.

📚 Dr. Haroon Baqai is Principal of Al-Huda School, Maryland, and Director of the Dar-us-Salaam Hifz Program. With over 25 years in education, he brings together Islamic scholarship and modern pedagogy, with a focus on Qur’anic education, curriculum and student development.

🌍 Dr.Dina Hassan El Odessy holds a doctorate in Education from the University of Oxford and specialises in Islamic and holistic education. Her work explores critical, decolonized and values-based pedagogy, while also focusing on learner wellbeing, happiness and human development.
