R44 GOLD RUSH DAY 4: What an awesome 2026 State FFA Convention! The Richland 44 FFA Env./Natural Resources team is STATE CHAMPIONS and will represent ND at National FFA Convention. Congrats to Ethan Skoog (3rd place), Colton Dockter (4), Cody Boehm (17th), Eli Rieger (37th), all gold award winners and Andrew Olson. Eli Rieger is STATE CHAMPION in the Basic Ag Mech event. Great job to the floriculture team for earning 5th place and a gold rating. Teammates were Lila Viele (gold), Gigi Ulven (gold), Violet Hermunslie (gold), and Stella Viele (silver). In the Food Science event, Richland placed bronze with team members Boden Schroeder, Lily Skoog, Amelia Willprecht, and Kilee Gwynn. Lily S, Oliver Asplin, and Kilee G competed in Nursery Landscape. The Meats Evaluation team consisted of Milo Selstedt, Max Selstedt, and Jens Holdman. Ina Gauslow placed 14th and received a silver rating in the Intermediate Ag Mech competition. In Farm Business Management, Ina G earned silver and Carter Olson earned a bronze rating.

R44 GOLD RUSH DAY 3: Congrats to Nick Wulfekuhle as his application for the American FFA Degree is being submitted to nationals. Congrats to Lila Viele, Ethan Skoog, Gigi Ulven, Abbie Fischer, and Jayden Miller for earning their State FFA degree. Ethan S was recognized as a state finalist in AgriBusiness. Thanks to National FFA Western Region Vice President Jael Cruikshank, and National FFA Officer candidate Bailey Urlacher for joining us on our midnight Sonic run with all of our friends from Wyndmere and Mandan. Lots of awards today!

R44 GOLD RUSH DAY TWO: Congratulations to Carson Klein - state champion Landscape Proficiency award and $250. Great job Ethan Skoog - state proficiency finalist in Turfgrass Management. Boden Schroeder - state champion in Agriscience Fair Env. Nat Resource systems and Cody Boehm - 2nd place in Agriscience Fair Food Science. The Small Animal Care team earned gold with Austen Pfeiff, Carter Pfeiff, and Ethan S all taking gold awards. The Food Science and Farm Business Mgmt teams competed today with awards to come.

GOLD RUSH 2026: Richland 44 FFA has arrived at the North Dakota State FFA Convention to find gold and had a great start. Congratulations to the chapter for being recognized as a state Premier Chapter in Building Communities, a State Superior Chapter, and advancing on to the National level in the National Chapter Awards program. R44 FFA also struck gold in the Food For America program. The Small Animal Care team was busy, with awards to come soon, and a few members had time for the sand volleyball court. More to come tomorrow.

COLTS CARE COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY 2025: I couldn’t be more proud of R44 students and staff. 13 projects, 135 students and just 2-3 intense hours and we packages 1440 lbs of pasta and made 696 sugar cookies for the Great Plains Food Bank, made 11 card holders for the elderly, 35 blankets for Sanford, and built shelving/lockers for Colfax Fire/Rescue, ladders for the school and a gun rack for the trap team. Students also made and sold lasagna and monster cookies for charity, caroled and donated houseplants to 3 retirement homes, taught about plants at a preschool, packed food at the food bank, made posters for winter sports/activities/organizations and painted the resource room. Huge thanks to FFA, FCCLA, and Student Council for organizing today’s event.
