Colfax-Mingo Childcare Center A nonprofit childcare center project designed to address the shortage of childcare in rural Jasper County.

Located near the Colfax-Mingo elementary school, it will provide year-round care for infants through school-age children.

As of right now we have gotten everything put together with the help this last weekend, will post if we get more stuff in that needs put together! Again thank you to everyone that helped this last weekend and to all my employees that were hired you guys worked so hard today getting things set up(: I can’t wait to get up and running. I am so grateful for this opportunity and still blessed that I was chosen to help run this center❤️.

We are planning on holding an open house this Thursday June 11th from 5-7 for enrolled families only!!! This is a great time to come in and meet the teachers and pick up/return paperwork!

Just another reminder I will be at the highschool at 10:00am Saturday May 30th for enrolled parents to pick up enrollment forms and to ask questions. If you can’t make it you will just need to get with me to get your enrollment forms prior to starting.

As we are getting closer to opening, we are still looking for some part time help. Hours would roughly be 3-6 Monday-Friday, with the possibility of working more on some days. It’s starting to feel real.

In just just over a month, the Colfax-Mingo Childcare Center will open its doors to local children and families. Before we open in June, we need your help filling our classrooms with the supplies, toys, books, and furniture that will turn this building into a safe, nurturing place for little learners.

We are excited to share that construction on the new Colfax-Mingo Childcare Center is nearing completion. The building is coming together beautifully, and we are incredibly grateful for the support and enthusiasm our families and community have shown throughout this process.

While we had hoped to open sooner, we do need to move our opening until June 15th due to a few final construction-related delays. In particular, we are still waiting on the completion and installation of the building security system and internet connections, both of which are essential to ensuring a safe and fully functional environment for our children and staff.

We understand this delay may create challenges for some families, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these final details. Our priority is making sure the center is fully prepared to provide the highest-quality care and learning environment from day one.

We are extremely excited about the future of the center under the direction of Jill Lind and the experienced staff we have hired. The response from families has been overwhelming in the best possible way, and we are proud to share that the center is already over 85% capacity. This clearly demonstrates the strong need that existed in our community for expanded childcare opportunities, and we are honored to help meet that need.

Thank you again for your patience, encouragement, and support throughout this journey. We cannot wait to welcome your children into the new Colfax-Mingo Childcare Center very soon.

There will be a parent/family meeting on Saturday, May 30 beginning at 10:00 am at the Colfax-Mingo Jr/Sr High School cafeteria. During this meeting parents will be given information in regards to the center, finalize paperwork and have an opportunity to meet with Jill Lind.
