Iron Range Goalie Academy Goalie Training Facility Iron Range Goalie Academy is an ice hockey goalie training facility located in Coleraine, Minnesota, USA.

It is a dry land and synthetic ice development facility for hockey goaltenders of all ages. Iron Range Goalie Academy is owned and operated by Derek Peterson, who grew up tending goal on the Iron Range. In high school, Derek was named to the Iron Range All Conference Team and was named a Minnesota All State Honorable Mention Goaltender in 2006. After high school, while attending Itasca Community C

ollege, Derek began coaching youth goaltenders in the Grand Rapids and Virginia Hockey Programs. After completing his Associates Degree, Derek continued his education at Bemidji State University. There, Derek became the head goalie coach for the Bemidji State Women’s Program. After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies and Coaching, Derek moved to Coleraine and started his work in the Greenway Hockey Program. Goalie of the Month for August 2026: Vivian Berrisford

Vivian "Viv" is a sixteen year old goaltender from Duluth, Minnesota. She is entering her junior year at East High School and plays goalie for the Duluth Northern Stars!

Viv became a goalie roughly "6-7" years ago. She put the goalie pads on because skating wasn't exactly her favorite thing to do. Making CRAZY saves is what has kept her competative between the pipes.

The Minnesota Wild and retired Hall of Fame goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury are her #1 team and idol.

The Proctor-Hermantown Mirage are Viv's biggest rival.

Duluth "Heritage" Sports Arena serves as Viv's home barn while the Andover Community Center is her favorite place to compete.

Pasta for a pregame meal, Goldfish for a snack, and a Gatorade thirst quencher are Viv's recipe for puck stopping perfection!

Before the game, Viv routinely does her stretches and warmup routine. She has been spending her summer working on her craft for a Varsity spot. That is her main goal this upcoming season!

Besides hockey, Viv spends a lot of time behind the plate on the softball diamond!
