Living to Serve—this week ag students and FFA members have been living out the last line of the FFA Motto, by helping to spruce up the grounds at the high school prior to graduation and cleaning and preparing the Coleman Memorial for Memorial Day!

We still have lots inventory left in our greenhouse! Every purchase directly supports our livestock, greenhouse and forestry programs and allows students to gain industry recognized certifications!

Remaining inventory include: 108 porch pots, 60 hanging baskets and 20 flats.

We appreciate all of your support in clearing out our greenhouse and helping to grow the next generation of agricultural professionals!

The greenhouse will be open be open during school hours the remainder of the week. If you need to schedule a different time, please let us know!

HELP US EMPTY THE GREENHOUSE! We have so many porch pots, hanging baskets and flats left ready for you! All proceeds help to fund all of our projects and activities throughout the year.

The greenhouse will be open from 7:30am-11am and 1pm-3pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 7:30am-11am in Wednesday! If you can’t make it during these times, contact us at [email protected] to schedule a time.

Curt Holsinger, owner of Timber!Tree Care along with Coleman graduate Eryc Miller and Coleman graduate and agriscience alumnus Noah Haskell graciously donated their time and expertise relating to the arboricultre industry. Students learned about disease identification, tree physiology, tool identification and use. To top it off, some students had the opportunity to experience safely climb trees using harnesses and ropes. This was a real opportunity to experience physics in action by using mechanical advantage to move logs and pull themselves up into the canopy of trees.

This morning, 8th grade Ag STEM students released 83 salmon smolts into Bluff Creek located at the Fike Road school forest. The salmon were hatched from eggs acquired in November from the DNR. Students learned about life cycles of salmon, habitat requirements and water quality.
