It's a great day to play football in Tate County! Jamboree action kicks off tonight as our student-athletes hit the field to get their first real game action of the season.

Strayhorn High School defends home turf against H.W. Byers, while Independence High School travels up the road to face Lewisburg High School.

Pack the stands, bring the energy, and support our Mustangs and Wildcats as they launch a new season under the Friday night lights.

Our Strayhorn High and Independence High girls volleyball teams faced off once again, this time on the court at Independence High School. Both teams brought tremendous energy, grit, and heart to today's in-school match.

Thank you to the students, staff, and fans at Independence for creating such an exciting atmosphere and cheering on all of our student-athletes!

Big news for Independence High School! Join us in celebrating junior Damarius Smith on being featured as a defensive back player to watch in the 2026 annual edition of Mississippi Gridiron! We are so proud of Damarius for earning statewide recognition for his hard work, talent, and dedication on the field. Keep making Tate County proud!

Our girls volleyball teams from Strayhorn High and Independence High put on a fantastic show in today's in-school match. Both teams played with incredible heart, grit, and sportsmanship from the first serve to the final point.
