We are thrilled to welcome another College Essay Advisor to The College Rx team! 🌟

Linda Carnevale, M.A., is an accomplished English educator, college admissions coach, and published academic author with more than 25 years of experience helping students strengthen their writing and find their authentic voice.

A former tenured English teacher at Cold Spring Harbor Schools, Linda taught grades 7–12, including Honors and AP courses. She has extensive experience guiding students through personal statements, supplemental essays, and the writing that goes into highly selective college applications. Her students have earned admission and scholarships to Ivy League and other top-tier universities.

Linda is also the author of multiple editions of bestselling Barron’s educational titles, including HOT WORDS for the SAT, HOT WORDS for the ACT, and SAT1600. She holds an M.A. from Columbia University Teachers College and a B.A. from Binghamton University.

BREAKING NEWS 🚨

With UGA and Tulane no longer requiring supplemental essays, application numbers are expected to rise dramatically. Fewer barriers to apply often means larger applicant pools, lower acceptance rates, and even more competition.

This means the personal statement just became more important than ever. In a sea of applications, authentic storytelling, strong writing, and a compelling voice will be what truly sets students apart.
