๐ From Classroom to Clinics ๐ฉบ
Over the summer our incoming sophomore students have been gaining real world hands on experience in veterinary practices. From using and expanding the skills they have learned so far in the program, to even learning some new ones!
"Hi! My name is Jasmin Weaver and I am currently completing my summer internship at Republican Valley Veterinary.
I help with a lot of things at the clinic including drawing blood, helping monitor anesthesia, give vaccinations, helping take x-rays, testing blood, doing dentals, probing bulls, and playing receptionist some days! I have learned a lot about the blood machines, monitoring anesthesia, wrapping surgical instrument packs, and interacting with the clients.
The skills from my freshman semester that have helped me this summer are drawing blood, restraining animals, giving meds to patients, intubating, and monitoring anesthesia. Skills that this experience has helped me grow in are working with the blood machines, interacting with clients. scrubbing surgical areas, and working with anesthesia.
I have been enjoying my summer immensely and love learning new things everyday!"
