It is with heavy hearts that we remember Dr. Shad Clymer, a valued former faculty member of our Veterinary Nursing Program.
During his 8 years as an instructor, Dr. Clymer made a lasting impact on countless students through his dedication, knowledge and passion for veterinary medicine. He was also instrumental in establishing our distance learning program, helping expand opportunities for students and shaping the future of our program.
Dr. Clymer's influence has reached far beyond the classroom and this legacy will continue through the students, colleagues, and program he helped build. We are grateful for the time, leadership, and compassion he shared with us.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

We would like to thank everyone who reached out to inquire about adopting from our program this semester, those who submitted applications, those who were approved for adoptions and those who helped spread the word about the dogs and cats who were looking for new homes!
We enjoy every animal that we get to work with within our program and spend many hours caring for each and every one of them. This semester we found homes for all 6 cats and 4 of the dogs.
While it was a sad day to see them leave, the last 4 dogs, Letty, Dom, Sapphire & Cinnamon have officially been transferred to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter to continue looking for new homes. We are grateful to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter for working with us and to allow these great dogs the chance to find their furever homes in a more populous area of Kansas!

This past week we had the opportunity to celebrate our students at our annual CCC Ag banquet.
Justice Booker received the Outstanding Trojan Award. Justice has a drive to gain as much knowledge and experience as she can throughout her time in our program. She is always willing to help out in any way she can; training freshmen students on weekend sanitation procedures, being a peer mentor to help pass on her skills and knowledge, and assisting with our distance learning fly-in weekends.
Spencer Nichols received the Most Valuable Trojan Award. Spencer is truly one of a kind and is involved in many aspects if campus life. Not only is she a veterinary nursing student, she is a resident assistant, a department work study, Vice President of the Collegiate Farm Bureau Chapter, Co-President of the Student Veterinary Nursing Association and assists with our distance learning fly-in weekends.
Congratulations to both Justice & Spencer on receiving these awards!
