We're excited to continue our Staff Spotlight Series by featuring Christy, one of our Secondary Staff members!
Get to know her a little better below:
1️⃣ What is something you pray for the students at Heartland?
In my classroom I pray that my students develop a good work-ethic along with a positive self-value knowing that hard-work pays off. I know that there is a good chance that several of my students may not use chemistry/physics in their future careers, but I want them to remember that we are all made in God's image and that He has asked us to work hard at all we do, as working for the Lord and not for men. He will reward us for doing our best for Him. We can also have fun doing it!
2️⃣ What is your favorite activity to do with your family?
I enjoy camping and traveling with my family- it's fun to watch my children experience new places- we enjoyed playing at the beach in South Carolina last summer-finding sea shells, sand dollars, and riding the waves was a really fun new adventure.
3️⃣ What is your favorite spot in Colby?
My favorite spot to spend time in Colby is watching my kids play at the park or walking on the walking trail around the pool-park and behind the college. I also really enjoy attending "Picnic in the Park" at Fike Park during the summer and listening to live music.
We're thankful for the passion and encouragement Christy brings to her students each day!

We're excited to continue our Staff Spotlight Series by featuring Mrs. Villmer!
Get to know her a little better below:
1️⃣ What is something you pray for the students at Heartland?
I pray my students would develop a deep love for the Lord as they learn about all the ways he made them unique and that he would spark a personal desire in them to know Him more!
2️⃣ What is your all-time favorite book or movie and why?
I don't have a lot of "absolute favorites" in my life...and it is probably cliche to say "The Bible" - but it's the only book I read over and over. 🙂
3️⃣ What is your favorite hobby to unwind after the school day?
I really like making things and journaling!
We're thankful for the creativity and encouragement Mrs. Villmer brings to her students each day!

My colleague, Reneé Schmeiser, and I were honored to represent our school with a privileged seat on the Senate floor this past week. It was good to see the significance of Christian education recognized at the state level. Thank you to all who made this event possible!

We're excited to continue our Staff Spotlight Series by featuring Mrs. Donley!
Get to know her a little better below:
1️⃣ What is something you pray for the students at Heartland?
I hope they will develop an authentic love for Christ and His Word and nurture an insatiable quest for learning that extends far beyond the confines of the classroom. I pray that each student will accept Christ as their savior and live a life of righteousness, all for His glory. I hope each one will grow in their faith and relationship with the Lord, and that they will use the skills learned and carry forward the work ethic practiced in kindergarten to pursue a deeper understanding of God's calling on their lives. The reason I teach my students to read is to equip them to independently read and study the scriptures so that they may know the "...depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God..." as described in Romans 11:33, and to understand that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. I pray that each lesson taught in the classroom will engage students and lead them toward a greater understanding of our Creator and His purpose for their lives.
2️⃣ What is your all-time favorite book or movie and why?
My favorite all-time book is the Bible, because "...the word of our God endures forever." (Isaiah 40:8). There is no circumstance I will ever face for which the Bible does not hold the key to wisdom. I don't really watch movies.
3️⃣ What is your favorite hobby to unwind after the school day?
My favorite hobby to unwind? People do that? Does preparing for the following day's lessons count?
Seriously, though, I love spending time with my family. God has abundantly blessed my husband and me! We live close enough to our children and grandchildren that we can spend time with them almost every day. I can think of nothing on this earth I would rather do than spend time surrounded by my family.
We're thankful for the wisdom and dedication Mrs. Donley brings to her students each day!

Continuing on with our Staff Spotlight Series, today we're featuring Mrs. Fromholtz!
Get to know her a little better below:
1️⃣ What is something you pray for the students at Heartland?
I pray that by the end of preschool my students will have learned the basics of academics to set them up well for the rest of their schooling, and even more importantly that they would also learn the basics of loving and knowing Jesus to set them up well for their relationship and life with Him.
2️⃣ What is your all-time favorite book or movie and why?
My favorite movie is It's a Wonderful Life. I love this movie because it displays the truth that life is about much more than a good job or a nice house, life is about how we each have profound purpose through God
3️⃣ What is your favorite hobby to unwind after the school day?
My favorite way to unwind after the school day is going on a walk with my husband and telling him the hilarious things my preschoolers said or did that day.
We're thankful for the joy and care Mrs. Fromholtz brings to her students each day!
