Saturday, Aug. 29th, 9:00 AM -12:00 PM

These workdays are essential for keeping our school in top shape for our Crusaders. We rely on volunteers and families to ensure our facilities are well cared for. Thanks in advance for your time and dedication to our school!

Mrs. Fromholtz returned to HCS today as our guest Chapel speaker. She shared a little bit about the ministry work she shares with her husband through Samaritan's Purse. Thank you, Abi, for sharing with all of us. We miss you!

Please submit all required paperwork and fees to the office to officially enroll your child for the upcoming year. Your child is NOT officially included on the roster until everything has been submitted.

If you are unsure of your child's status, please call Mrs. Bandy in the school office at 785-460-6419 as soon as possible so that she can finalize the roster.

We're excited to continue our Staff Spotlight Series by featuring Christy, one of our Secondary Staff members!

Get to know her a little better below:

1️⃣ What is something you pray for the students at Heartland?
In my classroom I pray that my students develop a good work-ethic along with a positive self-value knowing that hard-work pays off. I know that there is a good chance that several of my students may not use chemistry/physics in their future careers, but I want them to remember that we are all made in God's image and that He has asked us to work hard at all we do, as working for the Lord and not for men. He will reward us for doing our best for Him. We can also have fun doing it!

2️⃣ What is your favorite activity to do with your family?
I enjoy camping and traveling with my family- it's fun to watch my children experience new places- we enjoyed playing at the beach in South Carolina last summer-finding sea shells, sand dollars, and riding the waves was a really fun new adventure.

3️⃣ What is your favorite spot in Colby?
My favorite spot to spend time in Colby is watching my kids play at the park or walking on the walking trail around the pool-park and behind the college. I also really enjoy attending "Picnic in the Park" at Fike Park during the summer and listening to live music.

We're thankful for the passion and encouragement Christy brings to her students each day!

Get to know her a little better below:

1️⃣ What is something you pray for the students at Heartland?
We are educating lives for eternity. If my students don’t remember anything else I teach them, I want them to desire to live for Christ.

2️⃣ What is your all-time favorite book or movie and why?
My all-time favorite movie is The Princess Bride. I love to laugh, and the humor of the movie never gets old.

3️⃣ What is your favorite hobby or something you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy reading and crocheting, as well as many arts and crafts.

We're thankful for the creativity and heart Mrs. Hopson brings to her students each day! 💙
