Nothing makes us more proud than when students get the chance to participate with current industry professionals and further their knowledge/understanding of the Criminal Justice System!
Last week the Kansas Court of Appeals was on campus and a CJ student (Cristina Palacio Martinez) got to be honorary bailiff. All of Mrs. K's criminal justice classes also attended to hear the arguments and watch all that class theory in action!

Yesterday (3/25) was our annual CJ Career Expo! We had a great turn out and I can’t thank the folks who showed up and chatted with students for the day! Lots of fun was had - good conversations started - and I even think we had several students who learned a little too!

Meet Mrs. K! Her passion and knowledge expands much further than the classroom and nothing makes her happier than seeing students reach their full potentials!
Meet the Instructor!
Michaela Kaus, Mrs. K
I teach everything, Poli Sci (Intro to Poli Sci, American Gov, and State and Local Gov) as well as Criminal Justice courses (victimology, criminalistics, criminal profiling). In my free time, I love to read! On average I finish about 150 books a year. In the summer months, we like to break out the RZR and ride mountain trails and sand dunes. A fun fact about me, I live on 40 acres and have a full ‘funny’ farm. Cows, goats, mini donkeys, alpacas, a Shetland pony, and chickens. And obviously dogs and a couple of cats. Our newest dog, Pugsly, was adopted from the vet tech program here at CCC! My advice? Jump in. Jump into your major, your passion, your interests. While you may not feel/see it now, those things will continue to shape you, influence you, and lead you to where you’re supposed to be in life. Get involved, ask the questions, and be active in class. You’ll never regret it.
