Last week in Grinnell, I met Morgan and Rawlins, who were volunteering in the community as it recovers from an EF-3 tornado. My administration is committed to providing resources and assisting however needed. As we always do, Kansans will band together and move forward from this disaster.

3rd & 4th Grades completed their year with the 4th annual Orange Carpet event! 🧡

What is our Orange Carpet Event?!

At the beginning of the school year, Mrs. Stapp talks with the classes and the teachers about state assessments. Mrs. Stapp and Mrs. Brown take turns reading to the 3rd & 4th Grade classes throughout the school year. After all of the hard work and completion of state assessments, students and staff are awarded for their hard work. Each student then gets to walk across the stage to collect their completion award.

This year students Grace Meyer and Madison Roeder spoke individually on behalf of their grade level to present a special award to Mrs. Hailey as the testing coordinator. Additional awards to given to students who exceeded progress in district reading assessments. Then, after the awards, they had a student only party with a movie (from the novel read by Mrs. Stapp & Mrs. Brown) and popcorn! 🍿🎥

Congratulations to our students and staff for their hard work during this years state assessments! 🦅

We had a great time last week with our library tours for the 3rd graders and the After School groups. 🧡📚

Mrs. Funk read an art related story to them, they explored the children's room, and also spent some time in the Youth Activity Center.

Thank you to the Pioneer Memorial Library for having us!
