🐾 COUGARS CARE: Stock the Cougar Cupboard! 🐾

We are excited to kick off a new monthly tradition at Colbert Elementary! Throughout the year, we’ll be collecting food to help stock our Cougar Cupboard, which provides additional food for students and families in our Colbert community.

Our first collection will be August 24–28! Each grade level will have a collection bin available throughout the week. Students may bring in their grade level’s designated item(s) anytime Monday through Friday.

🥫 Kindergarten- 2nd Grade: Pantry Staples
Students in Kindergarten–2nd grade may bring any individually packaged, shelf-stable pantry item, such as:
• Individual oatmeal packets/cups
• Vienna sausages
• Individual boxes/packages of raisins
• Peanut butter crackers
• Individual applesauce cups/pouches
• Other similar individually packaged, shelf-stable items

🍝 3rd- 5th Grades: Let’s Make a Meal!
Our older grades are working together to collect the ingredients for an easy pasta meal:
3rd Grade: Boxes of pasta noodles
4th Grade: Canned cream of mushroom soup OR canned peas
5th Grade: Jars of spaghetti sauce OR shelf-stable Parmesan cheese (the unrefrigerated kind sold on the grocery-store shelf)

🏆 And there are bragging rights on the line!

Our Student Leadership Team will collect and count each grade level’s donations on Friday morning. The grade that collects the most total items will become our first-ever GOLDEN CAN CHAMPIONS and get to proudly display the traveling Golden Can until our next collection! The winner will be announced August 28 at our Cougar Pride Assembly.

There is absolutely no obligation to donate. This is simply a fun way for our Cougars to work together to care for members of our own school community. Whether your grade brings 10 items or 100, every single donation helps stock the Cougar Cupboard! ❤️💙

Happy Sunday, chat!

Time to spill the tea on Day 1 of dropoff and pickup. Honestly? Y'all ate, and that’s a W. Yeah, the line was definitely lagging and low key slow because it was crowded, but don't stress…we're just getting it dialed in. Before you know it, we’ll be speedrunning this thing fast and efficiently like we always do.

To keep the vibes immaculate, please remember these things:

Bruh, slow down: Speeding through the lot is giving major pick me vibes. It ain't no race.

Pull up close to the car in front of you: Leaving a massive gap is straight-up delulu. They aren't contagious, I promise.

Follow the traffic plan: Stick to the script. Our plan has unspoken rizz and is literally the best in the state.

Don't block driveways: Blocking people's driveways is negative aura. Leaving them open is just common sense.

Do these things, and tomorrow's low-stress car line is gonna be elite aura farming for everyone.
