We’re proud to recognize 19 students who achieved perfect scores on their Idaho Standards Achievement Test this spring with yard signs. The ISAT assesses students in grades 3-8 and 11 on grade-level Idaho content standards in math, English Language Arts and Science.

The ISAT is an important benchmark for students! Great job!

We are aware of a social media post circulating regarding a former school security employee. Because this is a personnel matter, Coeur d’Alene Public Schools cannot discuss the details of an individual's employment or separation.

However, we do want to correct several inaccurate statements that have been shared.

Military service was not a factor in this employment decision. Our district and all of our schools value the service of our veterans, and we are proud to employ veterans in a variety of roles across our district.

We also want to be clear that statements attributed to the school principal regarding school security and law enforcement are false. Student and staff safety is, and always will be, one of our highest priorities.

Our schools continue to employ trained security personnel and work closely with local law enforcement to provide safe learning environments for students and staff.

Project SEARCH Instructor Theresa Moran and the Project SEARCH team are setting the bar for success extremely high as Coeur d’Alene Public Schools won the Excellent Employment Outcomes award at the 19th annual Project SEARCH International Conference in St. Louis.

The graduates of the Project SEARCH program complete approximately 640 hours of unpaid internship training inside Kootenai Health, gaining real-world experience while developing the skills needed to succeed in the workforce. The program has 16 years of success and it teaches young people how to succeed in the workforce. Interns land jobs at Kootenai Health, Home Depot, Fred Meyer, Michaels, Shabby Fabrics and Ross Dress for Less.

Typically, the criteria for the award is that programs must have at least 70 percent of the interns achieve integrated employment. Moran’s team helped the 2024-2025 class earn an 88 percent employment rate.

In addition, Amy Hagerty, a longtime community partner, was honored as a nominee for the Erin Riehle Community Impact Award. Hagerty has helped interns for more than a decade connect with business mentors and job interviews.

Congratulations to Theresa, Amy and all of the interns along with the business community partners who make Project SEARCH as the standard around the world.
