This program gives students the necessary skills and certificates needed to obtain employment in the outdoor recreation field. The coursework in this curriculum is primarily field based and leadership development centered. Graduates will have confidence to excel in this growing industry. Today was our first day back on the Spokane River with the ORL Swiftwater Rescue class and we had an awesome time! We practiced making rope systems to Rescue a stuck boat and even got to swim one of the Rapids. I cant wait for next week!

...And that's a wrap for another successful orientation trip on the beautiful Lower Salmon River! The first- and second-year ORL students gained hands-on learning experience in whitewater rafting, guiding, outdoor cooking, and more over their four-day adventure, setting up for an awesome year to follow!

First day on the lower spkane river today was awesome!! The ORL crew got to experience some of their first class 3 rapids of the season.
