In observance of Labor Day, there will be no school today, Monday, September 7th, for Lake City Academy and Little Learners. Classes will resume as usual tomorrow.

Some of the best learning at Little Learners doesn't happen at a table. 🍂
Digging in the dirt, sorting leaves by size, feeling the September air turn just slightly cooler — outdoor time builds focus, curiosity, and motor skills in ways worksheets simply can't. We get our little ones outside every day we can, rain or shine (okay, mostly shine).

"Will my child be ready for Kindergarten?" is the question we hear most from Little Learners parents — and it's the question that shapes almost everything we do. 🎓

Readiness isn't just about ABCs and 123s (though we cover those too). It's about a child who can sit and listen, share and problem-solve with a friend, follow a routine, and feel confident trying something new. That's what we're building, every single day.

Working parents, we've got you. Little Learners offers Extended Care with morning drop-off as early as 7:30am and afternoon pick-up through 6:00pm (12:30–4:00pm on Fridays).

It's the same warm, familiar Little Learners environment — just stretched to fit real family schedules. Ask us about it anytime, whether you're just enrolling or you've been with us for years.

Whether your child starts in August, November, or any month in between, those first few days look a little different for every kid.

Some walk in like old pros. Others need an extra hug at the door. Both are completely normal — and within a few days, most little ones have found their favorite center, their new best friend, and their own rhythm.

We help kids settle in all year long, not just in one single week. Whenever your family is ready, we're ready too.

One of the best things you can do before the first day of preschool? Talk about it like it's good news. 🗣️💛

Little ones take their emotional cues from us. If we talk about school with warmth and excitement — "Your teacher is so kind, you're going to make new friends!" — it plants confidence before they ever walk through the door. Nervous is normal. Confident is contagious.
