“The Best Things in Life” is J. Rome Gallery’s September 2026 watercolor exhibition. We are seeking two-dimensional fine art that responds to the prompt “the best things in life are…” What does the good life mean to you? Think the little things, think whimsy, think color!!

Celebrate ONE YEAR with us!!

Last June I took a leap and held the grand opening of my gallery. I think making it through one full year of business deserves some major celebration. Those who know me personally know that baking is one of my favorite hobbies. I don’t bake for art walk in general, BUT I figured this occasion is worth a homemade cake. Stop by on June 12 during ArtWalk from 5 to 8 pm. Enjoy a slice of cake and a glass of wine. :)

PAINTING CLASS ENROLLMENT NOW OPEN!

This is big! My last session of oil painting courses was such a wonderful time! I’m expecting that these two upcoming classes will fill up quickly.

🎨 Beginning Oil Painting: Wednesdays 6-8 pm every week from June 10 to July 15 (no need for oil painting experience

🎨 Intermediate Oil Painting: Thursdays 6-8 pm every week from June 11 to July 16 (for continuing students)

In each class there is a limit of 6 students. These small group courses are always such a great experience for my students and for myself! I love sharing my experience with you and seeing you develop new skills. Almost nothing makes me more excited!

Each course is $300 total with all materials included. You can’t beat that price.

“April Showers” is our reminder to our community that watercolor is very much alive. It can be so fresh!! It it doesn’t HAVE to be low contrast. It doesn’t HAVE to be a pleasant landscape. We have artists in our area doing all sorts of unexpected things with watercolor paints. In this show, see how .shippam uses her handmade watercolor that she mills with natural pigments. You’ll see a fresh take on still life by . See how watercolor and collage can interact in .yand.art ‘s works. Become immersed in .e.erickson ‘s watercolor and graphite paintings.
