Geckos came to visit us today for pet week! The kids had a great time learning about their habitats and what they eat. They also learned fun facts about how their tails regrow if they loose them!

Thank you so much to our friend Hannah who brought us a baby animal show for pet week! We got to see a 5 week old bunny, 3 week old guinea pig, 8 month old chicken, 4 week old kittens, 5 month old goat and 5 week old Chinchilla! The kids loved learning about them and petting them!

Thank you so much Companions Animal Center for bringing your sweet pups in for pet week! The kids had a great time learning how to take care of dogs and meeting them up close!

We stay busy here at North Star by fitting in lots of learning through play! Here is a sneak peak at all the skills we practiced this week.

This week has been a blast!! We had a bubble party, measured how long a brontosaurus’s tail is (35 feet), made some volcanoes, made dinosaurs, monitored our growing pumpkin patch, learned the letter K and washed little baby dinosaurs!!!

Dinosaur excavation has begun this week!! We are having a great time learning the “ABCs” of dinosaurs, looking at light table fossils and digging up sandbox dinosaurs just like paleontologists!

DINOSAURS!!! We are so excited to get everything set up for our Dinosaur/Paleontology study over the next two weeks! We will be learning about each dinosaur, studying fossils, patterning and finding out how paleontologists dig for dinosaurs!

Thank you Kootenai County Sheriff - Volunteer Search & Rescue for spending time with us to teach us how to stay safe if we get lost with the “hug a tree” program! We learned to stay in one place, stay warm, stay dry, wear bright clothes and be loud! We got to share helpful information with our families too!
