Our first graduates to walk our school came through today from CHS! Such a special moment for them and every single Otter who will do the same one day! Congrats to the class of 2026!

It’s one of the most anticipated events of the school year for students—but we

A big thank you to the Excel Foundation and to Art on the Green and the Sue and Patrick Flammia Endowmnent Fund. Through a grant from the Excel Foundation, Ms. Harris was able to purchase many new art supplies including felt, needles, embroidery floss, and stuffing, so students could create their own stuffy. Art on the Green gave a generous donation to NExA’s art program so they could order more felt and a special fabric glue to put the finishing touches on their stuffies. We are so thankful to have these organizations in our community to give kids these experiences.

In Mrs. Howard's first-grade class, students embarked on a journey of discovery, nurturing eggs through the life cycle of chickens and creating insightful non-fiction books along the way, unlocking a world of wonder and learning.

Today was the last official meeting for kindergarten and fifth-grade buddies. They spent time together creating a memory book and talking about all the fun they shared this year. A great bond was created with each and every one. 🩷

Papa Murphy's generously donated pizzas for second graders to make and eat to wrap up their learning about shapes, and introduce fractions, producers, and consumers!

Northwest Expedition Academy is a traditional K–5 school, part of Coeur d'Alene Public Schools. It launched in 2017 and, today, over 350 students are enrolled here.

Students here learn through project-based curriculum. Classes experience real work in the real world. Kids visit job sites, businesses, colleges, museums, and the great outdoors to improve their understanding of the world.

Rather than an educator assigning and grading worksheets, students must create and deliver presentations that demonstrate proficiency in foundational skills like math, literacy, and critical thinking, as they relate to a given project or experience. Each grade level completes a project every four to six weeks.

An otter is their mascot.
