True to Seed Coeur d'Alene Seed Sharing Library

Share

By growing, saving and sharing seeds, we develop regionally adapted seed varieties, strengthen community self sufficiency, and promote a culture of sharing

What is a Seed Library? It is a program, run by volunteers, to provide the community with an array of garden seeds at no cost. Many Seed Libraries not only promote backyard gardening, but also encourage the tradition of seed saving and sharing. The idea is that people save and trade seeds with each other, and the library provides the opportunity and education to make it happen. True to Seed ~ Coe

Seeds for Earth Day🌿🌞

04/19/2022

Earth Day celebration at the CDA Public Library this Saturday, April 23rd!!

Our biggest event this month is Earth Day! On April 23rd from 10-2pm we're celebrating Earth Day outdoor activities and booths, as well as socially-distanced educational presentations in the Community Room. Our outdoor festivities will be held on the parkside of the library.

-Participate in fun earth centered activities
-Learn about the organizations who are working towards a more sustainable Coeur d’Alene, and
-Contribute your time and talents to help. It takes all of us together!

We’re bringing together a number of local environmental organizations for a fun outdoor Saturday of games, giveaways, and learning.
Our planet is an amazing place, but it needs our help to thrive! That’s why each year on April 22, more than a billion people celebrate Earth Day to protect the planet from things like pollution and deforestation. By taking part in activities like picking up litter and planting trees, we’re making our world a happier, healthier place to live.

Packaging up locally grown seeds to distribute to the community 🌻

Join us for the 7th Annual Seed Swap @ the CDA Public Library!

Saturday, January 29, 2022/ 1-3 pm Coeur d’Alene Library Community Room

What is a Seed Swap?
Bring your extra seeds (home-saved or purchased) to share with others and go home with some seeds for your spring and summer planting! Learn about seed saving from some of our region’s avid seed savers, and take home seed varieties that you won’t find anywhere else and that are well-adapted to our growing conditions.

No seeds to swap? Come anyway, and consider making a donation to help cover costs and help our seed program grow.
