Today we played ABC Dinos! We rolled the dice, moved our dinos, and said the letter, the sound, and what starts with the letter! In this activity, children practiced counting, taking turns, and literacy skills.

Offering a variety of fruits and veggies helps children establish healthy eating habits, ensures proper nutrients, and prevents picky eating. These fruits and veggies are in season for March. Have your child try new foods when they are at peak flavor and freshness!

Bringing this back to reiterate how important sensory play is! When children explore through touch, sound, sight, movement, and smell, they are wiring their brains for learning, problem-solving, language development, and emotional regulation.

It's never too late to celebrate GALentines with a few of my favorite North Idaho Educators 💕

This week, the teachers at TLC Learning Center participated in an Emotional Literacy training as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the whole child. ❤️

We focused on learning how to better support children in recognizing and understanding their emotions, sitting with their feelings, and developing healthy coping strategies. Emotional skills are just as important as academic skills, and these early experiences help build confidence, resilience, and empathy.

Our teachers are already putting this training into action by creating emotion charts, introducing feelings books, and adding new tools in the classroom to help children express themselves in safe and meaningful ways.

I am so proud of our team for continuing to learn and grow for the benefit of the children and families we serve!

Every week, TLC has volunteer readers from the church. For this story, children were able to take turns placing the felt pieces on the board when the story prompted. Making story time interactive keeps young children's attention and they can better understand the story. We love our church community! ❤️

"The wise man built his house upon a rock" 🎶

Our Waddlers explored the Bible story of the wise man who built his house upon the rock and the foolish man who built on the sand! The children poured water into each bucket to see what happened to the toy man, discovering how the “rock” stayed strong while the “sand” washed away. Such a fun, hands-on way to learn about strong foundations!

Lights and Magnatiles! The possibilities are endless.

The Challengers class has been enjoying our new light table that was so generously donated. Their first discovery - Magnatiles glow! We have seen some pretty creative ideas so far, can't wait to see how they explore next!
