North Idaho College Entrepreneurship student Matthew Harnisch participated in the inaugural AI Hackathon hosted through NIC X Labs this weekend. For the past two semesters, Matthew has been developing a SaaS business, and the hackathon gave him the opportunity to collaborate with students, educators, and industry partners while exploring real applications of AI.
Events like this move learning beyond the classroom and into real problem solving and innovation. We are proud to see NIC Entrepreneurship students engaging in opportunities that connect education, industry, and community.
Hands-on learning gets collaborative at inaugural AI Hackathon How can educators and employers leverage artificial intelligence in a way that allows them to focus more on human connection? What practical steps can North Idaho College take to integrate AI into classrooms and improve learning outcomes?
Our ENTP 105 Entrepreneurship Skills class recently partnered with NIC X Labs, using the Hedlund commons space and equipment to apply the 4 Ps of Marketing in a hands-on setting.
Getting out of the classroom matters. The extended learning environment gave students room to test product ideas, think intentionally about pricing, evaluate place and positioning, and explore promotion strategies while identifying real market competition.
When students work in a space designed for experimentation, their value propositions become clearer and more defined. This is what applied learning looks like at NIC.
