In education, when we talk about the dreaded "Summer Slide", we are not referring to the playground getting too hot in the sun.
We are referring to the loss in academic skills that happens during the extended break from school. Typically, students can lose a whole month of reading, writing, and/or math knowledge.
To help reduce that knowledge loss, our Summer K-3rd kids do daily journal writings, partner readings, and STEAM activities to keep their scientific minds growing!

Gizmo Lending Library, here in Coeur d'Alene, allows schools and homeschool networks to check-out amazing learning materials, equipment, and toys that allow students to explore STEAM and child-lead learning on another level.

Learning to dribble, pass, and control a ball while moving teaches fine and gross motor, spatial awareness and body control. We love offering Soccer Shots Inland Northwest at Smart Start!

Climbing jungle gyms is one of the most effective way to develop gross motor skills! They are building their arms, legs, core, back, and overall muscular endurance!
