Rotary Student of the Month 🌟
Join us in celebrating Kate Bouse, a standout graduate student in Computer Science at U of I Coeur d’Alene!
With a unique path from chemical engineering into industrial automation and controls, Kate is already making an impact—bridging disciplines to tackle real-world challenges like wastewater treatment and industrial process optimization. Her research on AI-based forecasting for water reclamation has been presented at the U of I Energy Symposium, and she’s continuing her momentum with an internship at Amalgamated Sugar.
Kate’s innovation shines in the lab, where she developed a closed-loop conveyor control system using machine vision and PLC integration—advancing intelligent automation in real time. But what truly sets her apart is her commitment to community. Whether she’s helping classmates, bringing homemade treats to share, or volunteering her time to clean local trails, Kate leads with generosity and purpose.
Her curiosity, work ethic, and care for others embody what it means to be a Vandal.
👏 Congratulations, Kate!
