🌲🦬 Yellowstone became our classroom for the day! πŸ¦…

Our Eastside 4th graders spent an entire day exploring Yellowstone National Park with a Park Ranger, bringing natural history and life science to life! Students had the opportunity to ask questions, make observations, and discover connections between living things and the environments they call home.

What an incredible opportunity to spark curiosity and help our young scientists connect classroom learning to the world around them! πŸ”ŽπŸŒŽ

A big thank-you to our Park Ranger and the teachers, chaperones, and staff who made this unforgettable day possible! πŸ’›πŸ’™

Learning life-saving skills during Fire Prevention Week! πŸš’πŸ”₯

Thank you to Park County Fire District No. 2 for bringing live-action smokehouse training to our Eastside 3rd and 4th graders! Students learned what to do if they wake up to a smoke-filled room and why developing and practicing a home evacuation plan is so important.

This hands-on experience helped students connect safety lessons with situations they could face in everyday life. Families, take a few minutes to ask your child what they learned and review your home fire escape plan together!

We appreciate our local firefighters for sharing their time and expertise to help keep our Eagles and their families safe! πŸ¦…

Science beyond the classroom! πŸ¦…πŸŒΏ

Our Eastside 2nd graders visited the Buffalo Bill Center of the West to learn about natural history and life science.

Exploring the natural world helps our young scientists build curiosity and better understand the living things around them!

Thank you to the Center’s staff, our teachers, and our chaperones for supporting this learning adventure!

Our Eastside 3rd graders connected classroom learning with local history during their visit to the Heart Mountain Interpretive Center! πŸ¦…

Students learned about the experiences of Japanese American individuals and families incarcerated at Heart Mountain during World War II. This visit supported Wyoming’s social studies standards for grades 3–5 by providing opportunities to explore citizenship and individual rights, understand interactions among cultural groups, and discover how museums use photographs, artifacts, and personal accounts to help us understand the past.

Learning about this important chapter in Wyoming and American history also encouraged reflection on fairness, empathy, and treating others with dignity and respect.

Thank you to the Heart Mountain staff, our teachers, and our chaperones for supporting this meaningful learning experience!
